Anointing of the Sick. Our priests will offer anointings to the sick at each weekend Mass, November 16-17. Anyone who is ailing, mentally or physically, is invited to receive this special blessing.

Caregivers’ Morning of Reflection. Saturday, November 16, 9:15-11:45 am in Hoffman Center. Whether you’re worried, grateful, or both, the holiday season means having additional stress for families. As we and our loved ones suffer from chronic health issues, we can benefit from trying new healthy habits of prayer, compassion, and self-care. Join us for a complimentary breakfast and presentation by Sr. Maria-Vianney Kysely, an expert in pastoral care and skilled nursing, hosted by Shepherd’s Heart Mental Health Ministry. Register here.

Save the Date! One Night Advent Mission. On Sunday, December 8th, at 7:00 p.m., Fr. Michael Sparough, SJ, will present on the season of Advent as a time for Calm, Clarity, and Christ. A priest beloved by many and a dynamic storyteller, Fr. Sparough will inspire parishioners of all ages to step back from the hysteria of commercial Christmas and turn to the joy of Christian anticipation.

College Care Packages- Volunteer Opportunities! After all masses this weekend swing by the Welcome Center to craft a fabulous care package for your college students! Stocked with unique devotions, tasty snacks, and sweet surprises—your student will feel the love from home! We would love to have you serve with us. Register here to help during this weekend. Thanksgiving Food Baskets. As we prepare for the season of giving, let’s remember those in our community who may be struggling this Thanksgiving. With your help, we will be able to bring joy to 150 families with Aldi gift cards and Thanksgiving baskets filled with food. We will assemble Thanksgiving baskets for the families of St. John Neumann and St. Vincent de Paul.
If you would like to participate in this ministry by bringing non-perishable food, please bring them from now until November 14th to room 216. Items needed are cereal, peanut butter, jelly, soup, crackers, pasta, spaghetti sauce, rice, beans, vegetable oil, flour, canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned tuna, juice, pancake mix, syrup, granola bars, cookies or anything else you think would be helpful. Giving Tree Kick-Off Event on Thursday, November 14 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Join us in the Hermes Center for a lovely evening to Kick-Off the Christmas Season with our renowned Giving Tree Ministry! It is our St. John Neumann Tradition to share the love and hope of Our Lord Jesus with our brothers and sisters in need in our community by giving away many Christmas gifts during this Holy Season!
This year we will be featuring the pianist Joseph Williams, nephew of Deacon Willie and Barb Williams. This gifted young adult has been playing piano since age 3 and was part of Wheaton’s College Program, Beethoven’s Buddies. He will be playing religious music and Christmas Carols for us. Bring your favorite appetizer or Christmas cookie and join us as we write Christmas messages of hope to bring the Light of Our Lord to our neighbors in need!
Operation Christmas Child… Volunteers Needed!
On Wednesday, November 20th, in the Hermes Center, our faith formation students will put together Christmas gifts for children in third-world countries with the organization Operation Christmas Child. Domestic Abuse Information Workshop. Join us for an eye-opening workshop on Saturday, November 23 from 1-5 pm, in the Hoffman Center, sponsored by our Domestic Abuse Ministry. Gain information about this crucial topic with insights from Jim Kintz & Cheryl Stella. Learn to identify abusive relationships and find ways to support ourselves and others.
