Love Beyond Words: National Marriage Week 2024. The theme for this year’s celebration of National Marriage Week is “Love Beyond Words,” which recalls the self-sacrificing love in marriage that is rooted in the wedding promises that the couple makes in matrimony. Intercessory Prayer Rosary. This coming Monday, February 12, 7-8 pm in the Guadalupe Chapel. Join us in the act of praying on behalf of others, and all are welcome. Feeding the Hungry… Volunteers Are Still Needed! Thank you to the parishioners who graciously answered last week’s call to volunteer for our Pads Ministry. We still need more volunteers to fulfill our monthly commitment at Hesed House, a Homeless Shelter in Aurora. You will be asked to donate a specific item, to cover their breakfast and dinner needs, JUST ONCE A MONTH. Your donations will need to be dropped off in the kitchen by the 2nd Thursday of the month. Thanks for prayerfully considering feeding the hungry in our community! Almsgiving Boxes at the Welcome Center this Weekend! As we usher in the sacred season of Lent, a time of solemn reflection and spiritual renewal, let us embrace the profound tradition our Catholic Faith upholds. Jesus taught us the essence of love by instructing us to care for “the least of my brethren.” As we embark on these 40 days of preparation for Holy Week and Easter, let us hold close to our hearts the three pillars of this holy season: Prayer, Fasting, and Almsgiving.
Our almsgiving this year will support the mission of Hope for Haitians, a charity founded by Catholic Laity in the Rockford Diocese.
Beginning this weekend, February 10 & 11, after all masses you will be able to pick up your Lenten kit at the Welcome Center. The kit includes a box, a calendar, and an envelope, let’s begin our Lenten journey, and let’s help this worthy cause that provides works of mercy to families in desperate need. Calling All Prayer Warriors! This spring, a special event called 40 Days for Life is happening at Waterleaf near Planned Parenthood in Aurora. Our SJN group will pray there on Friday, March 8 from 7 am until 7 pm. We want to stop abortion by praying and fasting. You can help mothers and babies by joining us.
