Living Rosary, for Suicide Remembrance & Prevention. Saturday, September 23, 5:45-6:30 pm, in Church. September is National Suicide Remembrance Month, to remove the stigma, encourage conversation, and to help save lives. Rosary groups are gathering around the diocese to request our Blessed Mother’s intercession. Let us gather as a parish community to pray a Living Rosary for anyone who is contemplating suicide, to pray for anyone who has died, and to pray for those who mourn. A Note from Our New PRAISE Choir Director. Hello Everyone! I am Tom Stefan, the new Director/Accompanist of the PRAISE Choir. It is good to be here. I studied organ at Illinois State University & Ilinois Wesleyan University. I am a graduate of DePaul University where I took lessons at St. James Episcopal Cathedral-Chicago. I have made music in the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Diocese of Joliet and Rockford. Most recently I have been an Accompanist at St. Catherine of Sienna-West Dundee and St. Mary-Gilberts.
We could use more people in the PRAISE Choir (high school and above). You need not have the voice of an Adele or Tony Bennett. The ability to maintain pitch, count and follow the music notes up and down are the requirements along with fidelity to rehearsals.
PRAISE Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 pm-8:45 pm in the Church. On Sundays, we "warm up" at 10:00 am in the Chapel and regularly sing the 11:00 am Sunday Mass. On occasion, we will sing at the Sunday 9:30am "Live Streamed Mass." Please consider joining PRAISE Choir to make inspiring music. Please contact Tom at tstefan@sjnstcharles.org.

Pilgrimage with Relics! Saturday, September 30th, 10:30 am-1:30 pm. On the vigil of the Little Flower’s feast day, we will visit the National Shrine of St. Therese of Lisieux (Darien, IL). During late September, the relics of St. Therese and her parents will be temporarily on display for veneration! Visit will include a short tour, Mass, museum, gift shop, and more! Pantry Items Needed! Remember... As a parishioner you have the opportunity to Feed the Hungry, one of the Corporal Works of Mercy, by donating non-perishable food and other items. There is an ongoing food collection in room 216 where you can place your donations. On the first Monday of every month, Salvation Army picks up the food to refill their pantry and distribute it among the people in need in our community. Items needed in their pantry are rice, beans, canned tuna, canned vegetables, granola bars, instant potatoes, spaghetti sauce, ramen noodles, pasta, canned fruit cocktail, peanut butter and jelly, cereal, ravioli/spaghettios, bottled water, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, deodorant, dish soap and laundry detergent. Each and every donation is greatly appreciated! God bless your generosity!
